Financial Services Union Triennial Conference, Europa Hotel, Belfast 17th/18th May
Opening remarks from John O’Connell, General Secretary of the FSU and poll results are embargoed until 12.01am on Friday
The Financial Services Union Triennial Conference will take place over the next two days in the Europa Hotel, Belfast.
Some of the main items under discussion are collective bargaining, the emergence of AI in the financial services sector, branch closures and pay and conditions for staff.
The FSU will launch details of research it has commissioned with TASC into the emergence of AI in the Financial Servies Sector and will vote on 26 motions covering issues from the four-day week to surveillance in the workplace.

Over the weekend the FSU will release results of polling by Ireland Thinks on people’s attitudes to retaining local bank branches, regulation of AI, and trade union organising, in Northern Ireland.

The key note speaker for the weekend is Kelly M. Fay Rodríguez who is the Special Representative for International Labor Affairs in the Biden administration who will speak to collective bargaining and the purpose and important role of trade unions.
