The Financial Services Union will hold its Triennial Conference in the Europa Hotel, Belfast over the weekend of the 17th/18th May

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Ryan Murphy will open the Conference on Friday.

The key note speaker for the weekend is Kelly M. Fay Rodríguez who is the Special Representative for International Labor Affairs in the Biden administration.

The conference will discuss in panel format the future of work, concentrating on remote working , worktime reduction, the emergence of AI and surveillance in the workplace. Representatives of ICTU, Worktime Reduction, University of Limerick and TASC will participate in the panel discussion.

The Conference will discuss the future of banking with contributions from the Institute of Bankers, the FSU, BPFI and FSU Australia. Branch closures, access to cash, recognition and reward will be debated by the panel.

The Conference will host a panel discussion on collective bargaining with contributions from OwenReidy, ICTU General Secretary, John O’Connell, FSU General Secretary, Kelly M. Fay Rodríguez, Special Representative for International Labor Affairs in the Biden administration and Alka Bossinger, Deputy General Secretary of UNI Global. The panel will discuss collective bargaining in an Irish context and collective bargaining from an international perspective.

Ingrid Miley will moderate all panels.

There are 26 motions in total on the agenda of conference which cover issues such as equality in the workplace, the rise of the far right and entry level pay.
