Pay Review 2025 Update - UB NI & ROI - UB 11/24

17 December 2024

UB 11/24

Following on from your Union’s previous update on Ulster Bank Pay Review 2025, we have since met again with your employer to receive a full and final offer on a pay proposal for 2025. Unfortunately, the Bank’s offer did not meet expectations, and your Union was not in a position to agree to put that offer to a ballot of our members. The Union’s position remains steadfast, pay increases for 2025 must reflect member expectations, the profitability of the Bank, and private sector pay throughout the sector. The cumulative impact of inflation is also impacting our members’ daily lives. Although inflation has fallen this year, this inflation change is not reflected in the cost of day-to-day living. The cost of daily essentials still remains on average 20% higher in 2024 than they were in 2020.

We will now refer the issue to an Independent Third Party. This means that both your Union and employer will agree a suitable independent facilitator for dispute resolution. Hearings will likely commence in the new year. Until an outcome is determined, managers internally will still proceed with Beyond conversations with staff and conduct end of year conversations. Any discretionary performance payments may be subject to change determined by the outcome of the Third Party Hearings.

We will keep members updated as negotiations continue.

In the meantime, please ensure that any colleague who is not a member of the Union joins now. Joining could not be easier, click on the link here www.fsunion.org/join. Remember, currently you will receive a €50/£40 One4All voucher for every member that you recruit, just fill in the “Recruited by” section of the membership form. Your Union is making a difference for its members at Ulster Bank, please encourage your non-union member colleagues to join.
