Staffing survey
Thank you to all of those of you who have completed the survey on staffing, we had a strong response.
The results of the survey included:
- 83% of respondents in both branch and departments state staffing levels are unsatisfactory
- Members say that while types of leave including sick and annual leave do create a challenge, the main staffing problem is due to staffing levels, with 65% answering staffing shortages being the main problem
- That staff shortages are worse in the summer.
This is important information as the results for both department and branches helped us gather a clearer picture of what the main problems are. Your union has written to the bank with a summary of the results, and we await their response. We have also been actively working with specific branches and departments to improve staffing. So, thanks to all members for keeping up the pressure.
Workplace relations Commission hearing (WRC) 20th of September
We have our hearing at the WRC with the bank on the 20th of September. We have submitted a list for discussion including fixing the group profit share and remedying the scheme to make sure it better meets expectations in the future. We have also taken this opportunity to discuss improving other progressive leave types and future proof finance jobs against Artificial Intelligence for generations. We will keep you updated on the outcome.
Pay talks commence soon!
We will be launching our survey on Wednesday! Please keep an eye out for it.
