FSU and AIB to go back to WRC on pay.
30 August 2023
AIB staff clear in their demands for pay top up - says FSU.
The Financial Services Union (FSU) and AIB are to resume discussions in the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) on a demand from the FSU for a pay top up for 2023.
The Union and AIB have already attended two Conciliation Conferences at the Workplace Relations Commission with no agreement reached.
Both sides have been asked to return to the WRC after AIB requested a further opportunity to seek to resolve the matter through the WRC process
Commenting on the situation Billy Barrett, Senior Industrial Relations Officer with the FSU said:
“The FSU received a mandate from our members in our recent survey that a top-up pay increase to the current 3-year agreement is required to support them through the current cost-of-living crisis.
The Bank, at both previous conciliation conferences in the WRC have stated they are not willing to offer any improvement on basic pay.
The Bank has requested a further opportunity to seek to resolve the matter through the WRC process and we have indicated our willingness to attend to allow for one more opportunity at the WRC to seek to reach agreement.
A Bank that has posted an operating profit of more than €1.2bn for the first six months of this year is clearly in a financial position to reward its hard working, professional staff for their contribution. “
